What is the Best Wax/Cleaner for a Black TB

Looking for opinions on the best wax or cleaner (exterior) for my Black TB. I have not waxed it yet.

The second part of the question is, has anyone shampooed their TB engine and did they have any problems after doing it?

Meguiars, Im sponsored by them with my showcar, curently being redone showcar, that is. They have amazing products. The NXT products are awesome.

My TB is black and it has a bit of swirls. I hate having a new vehicle. My 93 Maxima was less problems, but it was time for a new ride.

Here is all the stuff I get free from Meguiars. You could prob just use their spray on wax or even just wax it. I just recently used the 3 step system with paint cleaner, polish and wax.

Don't worry about the swirls....you can get rid of them if they aren't too bad. Upkeep is more often with Black, but it looks great when it's done. One thing to remember, don't take it through car washes with spinning brushes ever. They scratch the crap out of your paint!
When your vehicle is super dirty.....don't bucket wash it either. Take it to one of the local do it yourself car washes with the power sprayers.
Get in all the cracks & crevisis & it will get the majority if not all of the junk off of your car. Not to close though, or you'll not only get off the dirt, but using the wand up close to a paint chip could prove fatal.
Pin stripes & stickers are a tricky point as well so not too close eh.
After power spraying it, if it doesn't come completely clean, then bucket wash it. Always be careful as to the condition of the cloth your using to wipe it with. Nothing to rough or more swirls will be the result.

Never wax your car when it is hot. I have seen WAY to many people doing this & the wax gets baked on & they really have to struggle taking it off. Do it where it is cool & out of the sun.....

Detailing cars for years & years I agree that Meguiars is very good.

Another product that I would highly recommend to you is Zymol. The wax & the cleaner.

Mothers products are also excellent.

The thing to remember with Black vehicles is that after your done waxing, remove the wax. Then say you just completed the hood.........use a slightly damp soft cloth in one hand & have a dry soft cloth in the other. Wipe a little with the slightly damp (cold water, NOT hot) cloth & then immediately folled by the dry cloth. It will usually get any of the cloudyness off & then wipes clean. Sometimes you may have to repeat the process, but it works.

Black is a beach to do, but once it is done right....there is NO better color out there for a car. Follow up wax jobs a week or later with the minute wax....spray wax. It is quick & very easy & keeps the slick feeling to the paint.

Another thing to do to upkeep your ride........use the clay wax from time to time. It takes off any of the oxidation that is in the paint & leaves the surface smoooooooooooooth! Follow it up with some wax & even smooooooooooooother!

What product name if i was to use Meguiars ie. wax, polish clay, carnuba wax would you start with. I have a bit of swirls and I just usually use any wax. i picked this TB up a few weeks ago so it has not had any extra's added to it.

Thanks for the tip on bucket washing. I will be bringing this TB to touchless car washes.

ZAINO!!! I used to be a big Meguiars consumer until I seen a car detailed with ZAINO. All I can say is WOW! Especially on black. You will pay a little more, but when you are done it will be worth it and them some. I never had as many compliments with any other wax/polish than when I switched over to ZAINO. Talk about a perfect mirrror finish. The only bad thing is that you have to buy it from their website, it is not available in stores.

I used to swear by Mirror Glaze (made by Maquires) for 20 years on my Black Z28) until last year I tried Zaino on my Black TB..... I do believe Zaino has a nicer shine and it will not attract dust when you are done. You can't go wrong with either of the two.

I have had two black cars and by far the best I have ever used were 2 by 3m.

They have a black swirl remover wax (this works great by itself, and made only for dark color cars)
As a finishing coat, they have another high gloss wax. It will be the smoothest wax job you ever put on any vehicle.

They can both be found at pepboys. Trust me...
Meguires is great... but for swirls... nothing compares to the 3m

I called a body shop today and they recommended that I do not try to get rid of the swirls in the paint since I never done this before. He also recommended Meguiars products. Has anyone used Luminate from Krown Rustproofing? They have a polish and a wax. Week ends coming and its going to be plus 4, its wax time....

Hey LTZ2FLIP4..I picked up the Meguiars Tech Wax. How do you think this product performs. It was the most expensive wax on the shelf but since Meguiars was reccomended by a few people I decided to try it.

The Meguiars web site offers an online review of what products may be best suited for your needs and my review came up with ScratchX with the Tech Wax. Is the ScratchX a safe to use products for idiots? I would hate to ruin my 3 week old TB's paint finish.

One more thing. Has anyone shampooed the engine?? I am a little hesitant on doing this.
