Oil Change Question

How do I remove the cannister to change the filter on a 2001 3 Series? Does someone sell a 'cap' or special socket? I think its about a 35mm socket but having a hard time finding one. Does an OEM make a cannister cap that fits on top of the cannister itself? Any help would be apprieciated. THanks

36mm actually. You can buy them at sears for about 4$. Or if your really desperate get a large adjustable wrench and try that.

AntiBurn and everyone else: Thanks for the info. Sounds like I need to get a 36mm and make sure I never take it to WallMart....
