Installation of Energy Suspension on a 91 HB

hey everyone,

i just purchased an energy suspension master kit and i was wondering if anyone has ever done it DIY installation of these bushings from home and what you used to complete it...

any info will help

I Think They Would Be Fairly Simple To Put On, Take It Step By Step, Start W./ The Sway Bar Bushings.

have the whole kit on my car plus trailing arm bushing...best thing to do is take all your control arms off and take them to a shop to press out the old bushings only and you can put in the poly kit yourself....they charge about 80 bucks to push out all the bushings

It's A LOT harder and time consuming than that. Some need to be pressed in/out while bolts will be seized. On this one your probably better off taking it to some who knows what they're doing with the right tools.

i dont recommend taking your car somwhere they charge from 350 to 500 bucks....just put car on jack stands take off all control arms and take them to a shop that has a press to press out old bushings...that would only cost like 60-80 bucks...sorry to hurt your feelings kit only costed like 120 but the install is a lot more if you take it to a shop

i purchased the master kit for my 89 crx, thinking i would have it done in a weekend. i was wrong. installing that kit was one of the most time consuming things i've ever done on my crx, more so than my b16 swap. it seemed like every bolt either twisted off or i just couldnt get out and would have to grind the head off. i didnt want to take the control arms to a shop to have them pressed out so i used a propane torch to burn out most of the rubber in the bushing itself then used a hack saw to cut a notch into the remaining sleeve the bushing sat in the control arm in. the new bushings pressed right in. getting the front back on, the traction bar i think it is, the bar in the front under the radiator was extremely hard for me. i couldnt seem to get things lined up quite right, and had to spend a lot of time on it. after it was all said and done, i dont think i'd do it again, i dont think i'd do it for $500.00 if someone asked me. thats just my personal opinion. i guess it'd be a lot easier if you had a press.

I did it at a garage that is fully equiped with a mechanic with 30 years experience. OMFG was it a pain in the ballz every bolt frozen and not just in the threads but in the metal sleave within the factory bushing... this is by far the worst of the difficultys as you cant free it or get vice grips on it or get PB blaster into it. all in all it took over 20 hours of work with the propper tools. now knowing how to do it maybe 16 hours. knowing how to do it and buying all new suspension bolts probably 6-8 hours. Also, there is a bushing in the rear on the front of the swing arm which does not come in the kit but is usualy blown as well, this is a critical adjustment point for the alignment and should be replaced with new OEM bushings or just the asembled arm (cost effective). well there is my 2 cents.

there called trailng arms bushing and go to energy suspension site and you can see the part number to purchase them there
