I'm not 100% sure on how you would go about doing it, but i would say you would have to disconnect the daylight sensor, and/or the brake release sensor... since those two things control the lights going on. There might be other ways, maybe someone else knows more about this.

Re: lights off?

I not quite sure, but I think there is afuse/relay, most likely a fuse ya can pull to disable.

But, watch out, pulling that fuse will disable other systems, like anything that is direct-fused to always on battery systems, like your radio and ECM.

Re: lights off?

Check it out carefully. I'm not sure but I think that the Day Time Running Lights are now a Federal Law. I belive that the autolight are tied into the DRL's.

I'm not sure for 2000's but my 96 DRL's shut off when the Ebrake is pulled up. So you could get in there, find the switch and put in a toggle on the line. If your lights shut off when the brake is pulled. (just might have to live with the brake light lit on the dash whenever you have them turned off)

Re: Re: lights off?

I am posting this in this thread cause I have a problem with my day lights. I got in my car one day and the bright lights indicator was blinking on and off(still is). I noticed soon after the day lights weren't on. My headlights and everything else works, brights-dim-fogs. Any clues? My car is a 96 GA GT. I tried the handbrake and it did nothing, but it never turned them off before anyhow. Thanks.
