Lighted Accent Tape?

About a year ago, I came across the personal site of an owner of a very phat RX-7. One of the things that he had on his ride was lighted accent tape... almost like duct tape, but it had fiber optics running the length of it. All he had to to was cut a length of the tape, apply it to the outside of his vehicle, and hook it to his battery, and it was ready to go, with a cool glow all along his RX. I recently decided I'd like to get some of this tape for my car, but I can't seem to find the website or the tape anywhere. Can anyone help me out?
There's a semi-similar product at www.neontrim.com, but I would prefer the tape... cheaper and can be applied to the outside of the car, not just the interior.

Thanks!

J

You'd think that...

I know, I know, it sounds too good to be true. But I swear it is, at the time I actually visited the site of the company that he purchased it from...

J,

I did a web search for the type of product you describe but found no exact matches. If you're interested, let me know and I'll list the links I found with similar products.

i have seen the product. it's called electro-luminescemnt strip, or a totally different product, electroluminescent wire. also called EL wire. look it up on ebay or yahoo. it's all over the place. it usuall comes with adhesive on the back and can be stuck to tyhe outside of your car and it is totally weather proof. usually yuou get 60 cm for $20.

It used to be sold everywhere (Kmart, Pep Boys, etc...) back in the day. Then, just when I saved up enough money to afford it, they stopped making it. Its electro-luminescent pin-striping... pretty cool if you ask me!
