Exclamation '67 Drag Buggy

Hello, my auto class is doing a '67 bug drag racer and where are starting with a frame, engine(with plaster all in it), fenders and that's about it. Now i'm in charge of buying parts we need and i'm wondering if you know any sites to check out for cheap quality racing parts(doesn't matter what kind of parts, as long as it is involved in racing). Also if any of you drag your '67 beatle can you post what mods you did and maybe how much you paid for it or where you got it from. Any help is greatly appreciated.

They might have some parts that u need, also look on recycler.com for car parts. i saw an 1917cc engine for like 1000 bucks and on ebay if you get some dual barrel 44 pict carbs and a racing clutch, i think u can make it wheely. ull have like 130 hp i think. good luck.

Re: '67 Drag Buggy

another question? can any one help me track down low cost link arms, seat belts, gauges(volt. and oil pressure), light switches, degree pullies, battery box for an optima red top battery, alternator strap, steering mount bracket and finally a fuse panel. I now this board isn't that lively so any help on anyparts would be appreciated. keep in mind i have off-roading i.e. sand in mind for this '67 beetle.

well, if it's for dragracing, just don't run the alternator or the fan, it sucks up power, and it should get very hot at all (my dad races his 2332 with dual 48 delortos and it never gets hot at all)
