compression test-loss of power

hey everybody, i have a 1994 Saturn SC2 5-speed with 237000 miles, i love this car, it takes so much abuse (accidental and intentional) but i have a few problems with it- 1st/ egr passage from head is clogged- how do i clean it up? 2nd/ map sensor pressure too low- how do i get it up there again? 3rd/ quad driver malfunction trouble code- whats that mean? 4th/ code 53- electronic spark control over maximum voltage/value- how do i fix that. I have checked the plugs and they are fine, replaced ect sensors, radiator, water pump, coils, plugs and wires, map sensor, egr and cooling fan so i know none of these things is the problem. I also did a compression thes and i got the following readings- cylinder 1=230psi, 2=220psi, 3=230psi, 4=240psi. that sounds high to me, can anyone let me know if its normal? any help will be appreciated, to see my car, you can go to www.cardomain.com/id/bomexsaturn. thanks again, tony

Re: compression test-loss of power

1. remove EGR, clean with carb and choke cleaner, then reinstall EGR with new gasket.

2.did you get a code or the MAP or what?

for codes - http://www.differentracing.com/tech_...dtc_chart.html

there is no 53 code, there is a 43 code and a flag 53 - both relate to the knock sensor.

was the compression test wet or dry? otherwise try a top engine clean.
