Hats Off to the Grand Am Forum People.
To all who post on this Forum:
Since I joined this forum back in Jan. I have recieved alot of help with both major and minor issues with my 96 Grand Am GT. In most cases any threads that I have started have been responded to rather quickly. That type of response is greatly appreciated, and I would be willing to bet others are just as greatful. There are several regulars on the forum that deserve even more recognition (I think you know who you are), their knowledge of the workings of the Grand Am is amazing.
By now some of you reading this are wondering what thiw is all about. Well the reason for this is:
I recently (about 4-5 days ago) started a thread over on the Ford Forum for a good friend of mine (He's fighting cancer and I'm trying to help him out, he can't do any thing laborous). Any way he is having a problem with his Ford Explorer speedometer, it is acting very irratically. I started the thread in hopes of getting a prompt response like I do on our GA forum. It has been atleast 4 days and I have no response over there and as on this morning only 12 people have viewed the thread. It has been a disappointment, especially after I have bragged about our forum.
I have also posted threads on the Suzuki Forum with the same results as the Ford site. I know that there are alot of Grand Ams on the road but I also know there are alot of Explorers also. Maybe Grand Am'ers are a special breed.
Any way thank you to all on the Grand Am Forum, I know that if I have a question about my Grand Am I know I'll get some help. As for other vehicles, it may take a while.
I'm not bashing the other forums, I just trying to let everyone who uses the Grand Am forum how good we have it. When the moderators are just as willing to jump in and help you can feel confidant about the information your going to get.
Again, Thanks
Hoags

Yo, Hoags, presuming you posted your buddy's Explorer prob. in the correct forum? It sometimes takes a bit for replies. I wish your buddy well with his illness, btw.

Re: Hats Off to the Grand Am Forum People.
Knife, I actually posted my thread under the Explorer Forum and the Non-Specific to see if this is a Ford issue or an Explorer issue. I realize that it sometimes takes time to get a reply, and it's no big deal waiting for a reply. I guess I'm a little spoiled by the Grand Am Forum, we must visit this forum quite a bit. Any time I have posted a thread here I usually get a reply in a day or less. Like I said, I'm not bashing the Ford Forum I was actually complimenting the Grand Am guys for their dedication to the forum and wanting to help other Grand Am owners solve problems. So to guys like you and others I'm just saying THANKS.

It's very true to what Hoags says, most other forums won't respond when you ask a question, I've posted stuff in toyota and dodge and got either nothing back or when i did it was 4 months after i posted. The G/A forum is much more helpful, and somedays so fast impossible to keep up.
hoags, I hope your friend gets better, tell him to keep fighting!
