Question Wipers

My wipers don't go to park mode after a recent snow storm. they are in a position that are almost all the way to the left which is about as far as they go from the park position. Did a board or component burn up after not being able to go into park mode. There was snow sitting down where the park position is. Can anyone help me out.

Re: Wipers

Possible wiper trans assemly failure. What year is your car? 97s had a recall for wiper failure.

Re: Wipers

Sorry, I have a 98 GT. I have a Factory Service Manual with a good troubleshooting guide but I was just trying to find out out if this was a simple problem to fix.

Re: Wipers

your wiper arms may have slipped on their shafts causing the wipers to be out of phase. Try this. Lossen the wiper arm attaching nuts, or remove the arms from the shafts altogether. Cycle the wipers once by turning them on and off, or hitting mist. Reposition the wipers in the proper down position and reattach to the shafts.

Re: Wipers

That makes sense, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the help.
