2001 Passat 4-Motion Wagon 3 Repair Questions

How hard is it to fix these three items instead of the dealership:

1. Fuel Filter.
2. Pollen Filter
3. Air Filter.

I would like to do these on my own, but the engine has so many plastic protectors on it, I'm not sure How I get to these items or where they are located. I think the air filter is right above the passenger side front headlight. Pollen filter I think is drivers side up near the dash... fuel filter?

I would also like to learn how to replace the battery... $200 for a battery seems steep to me... and VW's batteries suck ass... I think they are like everready batteries... when I need a Duracell or Energizer.

Pollen and air filter are easy, takes about 20 min to replace both.

Since you have a 4-motion i would suggest letting the dealer replace the filter because it is crammed up in there are requires a special socket to let the fuel filter get out.

Dont get an aftermarket battery because they wont last as long as a vw battery. Spend the 120$ for a factory battery.
