How to change 2000 Cabrio Headlightscalvatronx 03-16-2005, 12:25 AM How the heck do you change the headlights for this car? I wanted to change the headlights for my girlfriend so I went to Kragen and bought some 9005 headlights, popped the hood, and was confused. I know for my car (99 civic ex) all there is are 2 rubber grommets which you have to remove, and a metal wire which holds the bulbs in place. I noticed on the cabrio, theres a metal wire, and it seems as if the plastic could come off, but I dont want to break anything. Anyone w/a step by step response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again GilbertGirl 03-14-2006, 01:43 AM Hello Calvatronx, Did anyone ever get back to you about changing the headlights? Both headlights burned out on my 2001 Cabrio and I am wondering if I have to replace the entire unit or can I just replace a bulb! ?? Thanks...GilbertGirl...Gilbert Arizona. spicyd 03-18-2006, 08:34 PM this info came to me courtesy of the cabriolet andcabrio club on yahoo.com (THANKS to them) prior to getting this response, i had gotten as far as taking the black cover off and removing the power cord, but got stuck trying to remove the old bulb. I havent yet had time to put this to the test > Look on the backside of the head light . there is a > little black cover held on via a spring looaded > clip. I used a mirror to look down inside from the > top. Move the spring thing to one side or the other > and the little black box comes off. Remove the > power cord. You can then see the back of the light > bulb. There is another spring clip holding the bulb > in blace. remove the spring by pushing the ends > together and forward. Then slide it out of the way > and the buld will come out. Sometimes it sticks a little. and DO NOT touch the new bulb with your bare fingers! If you accidently do, clean it with some rubbing alcohol. The oils on your hands will cause a hot spot on the glass, causing it to burn out/break and you'll have to do it all over again. I fought with that lame little pin for about 45 mins. before I came in and checked to see if anyone else had any idea how to change the bulb. :banghead: When I removed the pin, I squeezed it and pushed it down, and then one side came out, then the other. Its kind of hard to describe; I just read how to do it, then I messed with it until I figured it out. But yes, it does work! :iceslolan vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
