quad 4 motor cuts out under load.

89 with a quad 4 motor and 5 speed manual. motor idles and runs good. but when driving it and putting it under a load the motor bucks(JOLTS) and cuts out. new ignition module and coils. no clue why????? possible ecm or gas issues. u tell me...

Sounds like it could be fuel pump or fuel filter related. Change the fuel filter, and if the problem persists, try changing the pump - if the pump has never been changed, it's most likely the culprit - but deffinately try the filter first.

My 96 GAGT 5 speed was doing a similar thing, although my would not cut out. I ended up with a running rough all of the time problem after the buck situation. I replaced the plugs,wires, both coil packs and the ignition module.The only other thing that I had done was a professional fuel injector cleaning, now the car runs great. I would suggest the fuel filter change like Ridenour says but also have the injectors cleaned.

Yeh the injector cleaning would be a good idea - it's usually 250 to 400 dollars depending on where you get it (and they'll clean other things with them like throttle body / intake manifold).
