1996 cavalier which was stolen. Bought new stearing column and new airbag. Airbag light is on, is this what is causing the car not to turn over? please help

doubt the air-bag is stopping the car turning over, this could be due to a badly wired ignition or maybe the thieve did some unseen damage.

will cavalier start with the air bag light on it turns over but will not start. and if it will could the the problem be in the wiring. matched plugs but could the wires to the plugs be different from car to car.

if it turns over it's spark or fuel. the plug wire routing will be the same for the same motor in any GM car.

Maybe its on the passlock system. i tried this but it didnt work for me, but i replaced the ignition lock cylinder in my 2000 cavalier and it wouldnt start. called the dealer and to turn the key in the on position for 30 minutes then turn it off and start the car. it should reset the system. but good luck didnt help me any.
