Just drove a 328ci!NissanZ@af 07-05-2001, 12:47 AM Hey, I was hanging out with my friend today while his parents were gone, and we took his mom's 2000 328ci 5 speed out for a drive. My friend is only 15 and doesn't have his license yet, so he let me drive the car for quite a while, and man was I impressed. The car is simply amazing. It's an amazingly smooth and refined car to drive, yet has great power, speed, and handling. It was a little tough for me to get used to the way the car shifts because my Audi is so different, but after just a little while on the road, I got it down pretty good. I got it up to about 130 mph way out on some country roads. Even at that speed, it handles very very well. The 328ci is by far the nicest car that I've ever driven! gang$tarr 07-07-2001, 05:34 PM My parents bought me my '00 328ci..... it is really nice but now i wish they bought me a Supra, cause you can buy a supra for the same price, and a supra is a million times better :( matt 07-07-2001, 06:40 PM NissanZ, that's sweet. Sounds like a lot of fun. They say BMW's transmissions are among the best. Damn gang$tar, you should be happy with what you get. A brand new 328 and your crying?? I guess you'll just have to wait until you inherit your dad's company to buy your supra eh? gang$tarr 07-08-2001, 10:04 PM heh, yeah :) or i could just sell the 328ci..... then my pops will gimme some extra money to mod it what were the rolleyes for? my95cobras 07-09-2001, 02:28 PM man those 328's are nice but the 330's have 40 more hp, mine can really get up and go!!!!!! SKYWLKR 08-09-2001, 02:58 AM with a an E-cam ? you really need to swap out that thing. hermunn123 08-10-2001, 07:55 PM is the 328ci a convertible or 2 door coupe?? i don't know which one is which.... ic or ci gang$tarr 08-15-2001, 07:55 PM 328ci is the 2 door coupe (what i have) hermunn123 08-16-2001, 01:18 PM what are the numbers on your 328? hp, torque, weight, displacement, etc..... gang$tarr 08-16-2001, 09:47 PM it has 193hp, 206 torque, 2.8L and the weight is somewhere in the mid 3000s Porsche 08-19-2001, 11:18 PM I've heard lots about this 328ci except the colour gan$tarr, what is it anyways. Do you have any plans to get a new car soon. gang$tarr 08-23-2001, 01:36 AM It's blue, I don't remember the actual name but it's like a pearly blue, it I don't really have plans for a new car but I would consider alotta cars..... I'm hoping to get a Supra before I'm 18 so I can have Viper killer :D jdavis 08-23-2001, 06:14 PM Gangstarr, You've been watching too much Fast and Furious. First, a Supra would take a ton of mods to keep with the torque and launch of a Viper. Second, any parent allowing their kid to have such a car is a lunatic - how long have you had your training wheels off? Seriously, enjoy the bimmer....great car but terrible once its in the shop. My 2000 328i has been in and out for close to 3 mos. since I've owned it (approx. 2 yrs.). Step away from the rice if you want to race american. Nothing compares to straight up displacement and torque. gang$tarr 08-23-2001, 06:48 PM Originally posted by jdavis Gangstarr, You've been watching too much Fast and Furious. Nothing compares to straight up displacement and torque. The supra has been my favorite car for a really long time.... and you can mod a supra to be faster than a mclaren, it's quite easy to mod a supra to be faster than a stock viper.... and around here i've never seen a modded viper, they're all stock. You really don't know what you're talkin about if you're callin a Supra rice... the term "rice" means a car that is made to look fast but really isn't and if you're sayin that is what a supra is, then that's just the dumbest thing i've ever heard and the i haven't had any trouble with the bimmer and even if i did then my dad pays for it, so it doesn't matter to me jdavis 08-24-2001, 08:44 AM You said your dad would pay for it?!?! Exactly what I'm talking about - writing checks your butt can't cash. Thats a prettybrash statement regarding the McLaren. First off, a McLaren is not a production machine and until there is substantiated fact regarding your supposed 'mods' I would shut up. You apparently haven't driven many cars. Sure, a supra is quick and probably has a lot of go but only with a ton of boost. They simply don't deliver enough low end torque for off the line launch with a Hennessey Viper. As for the Viper mods, you apparently don't read much either. Hennessy has an 880hp Viper twin turbo with 0-100 times in the mid 6's. Once again, your age shows your stupidity. Do some research before mouthing off. gang$tarr 08-24-2001, 02:27 PM holy shit you're an illiterate retard..... you should watch what you say newbie, you're the one who should shut up.... I've probably driven more cars than you have and i've never driven a car that was under $30,000, so i've only driven fine cars, notice how I said that a modded Supra could easily beat a regular STOCK viper... not a henessey, you gotta learn how to read, or stay off these forums go to the supra Vs. mclaren comparo, and you'll see that all the intelligent people on these forums know that a modded supra can be faster than a mclaren..... sure the mclaren is faster on a track, but I'm talkin about straight line speed.... and you could probably do it for 1/5 the price of a mclaren so next time, you do YOUR research before YOU mouth off jdavis 08-29-2001, 01:32 PM Originally posted by gang$tarr holy shit you're an illiterate retard..... you should watch what you say newbie, you're the one who should shut up.... You are comparing a modified car vs. a stock viper. I mentioned a modified Viper for an apples to apples comparison of modified vs. modified. Keep in mind, with the right amount of money one can buy a 400bhp VW bug (see import tuner). The point being this: I'm sure with a bored and stroked engine, tones of boost and an intercooler, forged rods, new timing, larger intake, exhaust etc that the mod you are talking about can happen. BUT, you're comparison is a modified vs. a one off production car therefore I mentioned the Hennessey as part of the basis for comparison. As for never driving a car under 30k ---- great gonzo's for you. I have had the pleasure of driving many vehicles as well..... To name a few 3,5 & 7 series. '00 Jaguar XK8 and XKR, Benz 500SL, Acura 3.2 TL type S, Audi S4, Saleen SC and S281, Roush Stage II Mustang and Roush Stage II F150 to name a few. I have to say that you're flippant remark regarding the price of the auto's you have driven smacks of nouveau riche smugness. Don't think that you are the only one with means. Also, why would anyone want to drive a super modified car daily? Most, I repeat, most times, they require constant wrench turning, have problems with detonation and idle. I say this as I recently have been looking at the OEM cars of Roush, Saleen and the Vette. I appreciate that the Supra is an aesthetic that you find desirable. However, at some point in time, all the new rear ends in the world won't make up for pure displacement when all is said and done......hence why I mention the Viper and its performance. Also, for straight line performance, remember there are other off the lot cars that aren't produced anymore that are bonified 10 second cars. Do some research on a 427 '69 Camaro Yenko S/C. Don't get me wrong, the Supra is a cool car but my point is this...why would you consider an older car, modify the hell out of it, and lose dependability when you could find many 8 cylinder (or more) cars for the same money and have a faster car.......As always, the choice of the consumer comes down to subjective opinion. Just a thought...... gang$tarr 08-29-2001, 06:22 PM yeah, sorry.... i don't take well to insults, plus that was a bad day, i juss snapped I apologize, everybody's entitled to their own opinion but you told me to "shut up", you claimed that "You apparently haven't driven many cars" and there's no way you could possibly know that, so that pissed me off. then you said: "Once again, your age shows your stupidity. Do some research before mouthing off." that REALLY pissed me off cause you didn't even compare the car i compared it too, i said there are only stock vipers around here, nobody around here mods their vipers, so i could easily mod a supra to beat the cars AROUND HERE! it was like you didn't even read what i wrote you just decided to insult me. You also said "Gangstarr, You've been watching too much Fast and Furious" which was the dumbest thing i ever read because anybody knows you could make a supra that fast, i never said it was reliable or a daily driver, anything like that, i simply said that you can make it that fast. You also called a Supra rice, that doesn't show any intelligence at all. The defintion of rice is: something that is made to look fast but, really isn't fast. plus it was just funny how somebody with 2 posts was trying to insult me, when it didn't even seem like you were reading what i said Thunda Downunda 09-04-2001, 02:52 AM Displaying your charm, wit and finely-honed social skills again, I see? gang$tarr 09-04-2001, 08:24 PM Originally posted by Thunda Downunda Displaying your charm, wit and finely-honed social skills again, I see?
