Hello everyone. This is my first post. I just bought my Blazer yesterday. It was low on antifreeze, so I added more. There is antifreeze rolling down the back of the engine and on the bell housing. I have no idea where it is coming from. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Sean

It doesn't sound good. It may be your intake leaking

What side of the engine was it running down on?

You should have a warranty, I would take it back IMMEDIATELY.

It is a 97 blazer. So, no warranty. The Coolant is coming down the passanger side. Thanks for your help everyone!

The intake manifold gasket seems to be a weak spot on these V6's. Mine failed just like you're describing. I had an earlier one fail on a 2.8 and it leaked into the oil. Boo Hoo.

Thanks for your help! I am going to look into the intake gasket. I know that sometimes you can shoot some oxygen or starting fluid around the intake to find a bad spot in it. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Thanks

I bought it used from a dealership. There were no signs of leaks until I got it home. I have done research on the S10 forums and discovered that people have been having the same problems I am. It is the intake gasket. Now I just have to make it through the week and fix it next weekend.

Wake up and take it back to them and have them replace it under warrenty.

You bought a vehicle three days ago and are willing to pay US$1000 or mare to fix a leaking intake gasket?

Take it back to the dealer now and get your money back or get them to reaplce the gasket AS THEIR COST!

Simplely baffles the lind why you are being like this and thinking this is normal. If you pay for this to be fixed, you will be a 100% idiot.

It is a used vehicle with 160000 miles on it. There is no dealer in their right mind that will cover this. It will only cost me $38.00 and a couple of hours time to do it myself.

Even a used car has a warranty.

so you are going to keep it even though it could have had a coolant leak for how long?
