(94 and under) Speaker / Soundsystem questionsSen Sen 03-10-2005, 10:15 PM Ok first off. This is a pretty specific question.. I've searched in the forum and nothing! This questions for anyone who owns a 94 and under blazer s10/tahoe/bravda. My Problem: In my two door blazer s-10. There is the mount/cover for the rear speakers (6 x 9).. I have yet to find a compatible speaker shallow or thin enough to mount properly into the housing. Has anyone replaced the stock ones successfully? or found aftermarket mounts or extensions? dmbrisket 51 03-10-2005, 10:41 PM ok, sorry to break your rules, but i dont own a 95 or older... but i have gotten shallow speakers, you cant go cheep... you look at the boxes of the speakers, and they will say GM compatible, meaning shallow mount... i have pioneer speakers in my front doors of my 98 s 10 truck, and theres not much in that thing either BlazerLT 03-10-2005, 11:20 PM I think infinity makes a shallow version. dmbrisket 51 03-10-2005, 11:23 PM ^^ i think so to, but i just went with what i had... im sure there are plunty of other companies that make the shallow pocket speakers, i beleve almost all gm vehicals have shallow pockets, part of the low profile/modern look BlazerLT 03-11-2005, 02:30 AM Infinity are one of the best speaker manufacturers out there and well worth the money. A lot of the others are just paper speakers with a nice logo. Hellbilly 03-11-2005, 09:38 AM Sry goofed up post  Hellbilly 03-11-2005, 09:40 AM Infinity are one of the best speaker manufacturers out there and well worth the money. They make shallow speakers and spend alittle more cash when upgrading the sound system...You come out cheeper in the long run than buying cheep ones... If you dont want the Shallow ones then you can opt to have some custom molds made...I like the molds for apperance myself but, its all in your taste & buget  BlazerLT 03-11-2005, 03:05 PM I have all my speakers in my truck replaced with Infinity. My god, the sound is AMAZING. I got them really cheap off of ebay. johnpsu 03-11-2005, 04:26 PM I had the same problem. But I could not find and good speakers that fit the stock mounting depth in the rear. I ended up cutting out the little grate thing thats usully in front of the speaker, out. allowed me to sqeeze my 4way pioneers in there. But I basically have to keep them allthe way down cause there is so little clearance, when the speaker is on it vibrates against the inner body pannel!!!! ARRGHH Not to long after I found these: http://www.cybergiftcenter.com/images/sku/medium/8534.jpg Instead of the speaker pannel being flush against the interior, this makes it stick out a little, but alllows for an addition 1" of mounting depth! Its been almost a year and I still havnt ordered them yet. (its kinda hard when i dont have a credit card)Still havnt heard the beauty of my 6x9s. but Im sure they work great. I wonder if they have different colors besides black. If your going to get them, remember you need two, lol. heres the links: http://www.procura.com/sg69bz.html http://www.dealznet.com/sg69bz.html http://www.efunctional.com/sg69bz.html http://shop.store.yahoo.com/gigabuyz/sg69bz.html http://www.sepharus.com/sg69bz.html http://shop.store.yahoo.com/gigabuyz/sg69bz.html http://www.zalmar.com/detail-Audio-American_Intl_-SG69BZ.htm http://www.buy.com/prod/American_International_SG69BZ_6_x_9_Custom_Speaker _Mounting_System/q/loc/111/90104119.html http://www.cybergiftcenter.com/applications/search/itemdetails.asp?sku=CA-SG69BZ Sen Sen 03-11-2005, 05:05 PM Thank's a lot "johnpsu" Exactly the answer I was looking for....
