I know a guy thats selling a 350ci 4-bolt. I haven't gotten the details back from him yet, but does anyone know ballpark what this thing is worth? No heads, just has the carb, intake, and all internal parts.
Also any ideas what I should be aware of? I kinda new to rebuilding engines so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I acutally just got a 350 for free the other day on Craigslist, im not sure if it s 2-4 bolt this is my first re-build too, but anyway I would say if it looks like its in pretty good condition 350-500. If it has some rust and it has alot of oil grime on it. Plus he might tell you one of the cylinders is bad or maybe more than one cylinder is bad, I would say 200-300. All depends on whats wrong with it. If he says that a rod came loose then that really drops the value, becuase their could be some serious interal damage that either you or him know about. Just see what he says and come back and tell us whats up.

Well, turns out he doesn't know much about it - just that it's a 4 bolt and it doesn't have a carb or intake manifold at all. It's a block w/ pistons crank and valvetrain components and he wants $300. I think I'll just rummage through a junkyard. I can't imagine paying 300 for half an engine.

Well 300 for a 4 bolt is acutally reasonable if it was in good condition and if he knew how many miles where on it also why did he take it out of the car or where he got it from, but since he doesnt know anything about it,well then..... I wouldn't really trust an engine that someone doesnt know about. Junk Yards are ok, but you dont know what your getting either. I would keep searching for someone that wants to get rid of one. Good Luck!
