CBXweb 03-08-2005, 02:04 AM ..... SkylineUSA 03-08-2005, 03:03 AM While driving down Sierra Hwy, I peered over at the local rice shop known as Auto Mod, and for a split second it felt like time stood still. I seen a dark purple R33 GTR. I heard talk about the evil owner, Noel was trying to get one, but I thought it was all talk. The main reason why I think this guy is full of shit, because his former "cool" car his ricer slaves loved he had was a Z32 TT. And I asked him how come he didnt get the kouki or "1999" front bumper. He says theres no such thing as a 1999 300ZX, ANYWHERE. So that tells me if a supposed Z fan doesnt know theres a 1999 Z32, he's not into the scene as he seems. One of the ricer slaves that works for him told me it took a year to get over here and cost him over $120K :crook: , riiight. Well heres some pics, they suck because my camera is a 1MP camera, and I was tired. so whatev. Modified by CBXweb at 10:53 PM 3/7/2005 Pretty cool, did you see if had been legalised? 120k, that's a joke, knock 100k off of that, and that probably how much he is in it. If he was remotely smart, if it has not gone through the federalisation process of course. CBXweb 03-08-2005, 03:27 AM ............ nitrous36 03-08-2005, 10:10 PM He was wrong, there is a 1999 300zx. In the JDM market though. Nissan pulled the plug on the 300 here in 95/96, forgot which year. But they coninued to make them in Japan and were still in production in 99. And about the purple R33 GTR. Someone posted of a purple GTR R33 being stolen. In the general forum. Gtr2.7L 03-09-2005, 12:40 PM It wasn't federalized. If it was, the Substitute VIN placard would be clear as day in the picture looking down on the car. Pretty cool, did you see if had been legalised? 120k, that's a joke, knock 100k off of that, and that probably how much he is in it. If it was, the Substitute VIN placard would be clear as day in the picture looking down on the car. your right, I was talking about that with my friend yesterday. I seen almost a dozen legal skylines and you can see the subsitute VIN easy, but on this one, theres none. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 12:31 AM So how the hell did he get that pass customs? If he wants to keep that car he better stay low until the 25 year rule kicks in. Not doing anything to draw attention to the car. CBXweb 03-10-2005, 12:50 AM So how the hell did he get that pass customs? If he wants to keep that car he better stay low until the 25 year rule kicks in. Not doing anything to draw attention to the car. I hear, well actually seen cars get through without beef. I "heard" that you could get JDM cars through Florida or Georgia or something lame like that. whatev. But I did get a ride in my friend's Silvia with a CA in it. It wasnt DOT certified or had US VIN. I think the Silvia got here because an export/import guy who brings alot of JDM stuff in brung in the car, took out the SR, and sold it. You can find shells at http://www.gspeedcorp.com/cgi-bin/home.cgi. They have a ECR33 4 Door for sale I belive. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 01:38 AM I hear, well actually seen cars get through without beef. Are you serious tell me more. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 02:01 AM And I checked the out the site. Are they legit? How did they get those cars past customs? Dreamspawn 03-10-2005, 02:06 AM I hear, well actually seen cars get through without beef. I "heard" that you could get JDM cars through Florida or Georgia or something lame like that. whatev. But I did get a ride in my friend's Silvia with a CA in it. It wasnt DOT certified or had US VIN. If u import a rolling chassie what would they do let u take it away? I've never herd of nebody importing rolling chassies. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 11:47 AM Other than knowing someone how else could you get something pass customs? Dreamspawn 03-10-2005, 01:21 PM I'm thinking bout asking one of the mods bout this. Cause i've never herd of rolling chassies imported. Is it possible to legalize if u wanted to *speaking if rbmotoring picks up* Or if u wanted to make a race car out of it could u just go buy it and bring it back? nitrous36 03-10-2005, 01:48 PM I think they may be legit but illegal. How the hell they get a Skyline sedan pass customs. you can only import the coupes. And that RX-7 is questionable to. Dreamspawn 03-10-2005, 02:00 PM I Pm'ed Razor and i asked to take a look him and the other mods have a weatlth of knowledge bout these things so. I wondering the same thing. But if u import just a rolling chassie what would customs do. Cause its not a car per say. I kinda makes me wonder cause if u could get a rolling chassie and through a engine in it u could build your self a race car *NO ROAD USE, that would be illegal*. There are just to many ? and hows bout how they got it here or getting them. We will see if he or ne of the other mods know nethign bout this. Just realized the car has a egnien and tranny in it, last time i looked they had it as a roller. Still either way just sounds to iffy. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 02:18 PM It depends on who you know, whos at customs that day, and their mood. Some guys may be lenient and let you by. Some may grow a grey hair on their ass that day and decide to be difficult and be an asshole. You can import a chassis. They will be suspicious if you have a body or engine and tranny with tires on it. But just a chassis is ok. I think a complete chassis with everything on it would look suspect and raise a few eye brows. Those guys at customs are not stupid. If you know someone who works at customs youre off the hook. Thats what it all comes down to, who you know. But if you have a friend at customs who lets you through and you get caught doing some illegal shit you may risk their job. Im sure they keep track of who was working the docks when so and so came through. Dreamspawn 03-10-2005, 02:43 PM So i coule possibly import a rolling chassie, just body panels, fram, suspension. just no enigne and tranny. So say i wanted to import a R32 chassie that way it would be possible. Then drop like a sr20det in it or some other engine to take auto cross/drag what ever suits your flavor it would be possible. I fig they would watch those jsut like they do a complete car. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 03:12 PM Yes they would if the chassis is complete with everything. Thats why you ship it in parts seperately. Chassis, motor, tranny, ect. They are on their toes and weary of anything that looks like an attempt to bring in a car illegally. So a chassis sitting on four tires with an engine and tranny mounted would grab attention. That does scream potential illegal street use (knowing what you might do with it). It would be treated like a whole car because it basicly is. Just minus the body. One time I heard of them being questionable and weary about importing complete frames that were stripped. Knowing what the intended use might be. Think about it why would someone want to import a frame? To get an illegal non complying car in the country. And Im wondering if that purple R33 is legal. nismo_power 03-10-2005, 06:23 PM what you guys are talking about is highly illegal. and no, peicing a skyline together in the US is not legal, and neither is buying a rolling shell, and especially not a rolling shell with another notorious illegal engine. Dreamspawn 03-10-2005, 07:08 PM what you guys are talking about is highly illegal. and no, peicing a skyline together in the US is not legal, and neither is buying a rolling shell, and especially not a rolling shell with another notorious illegal engine. How is it illegal this skyline will never see road use *referrning to me asking the ? bout getting a shell* What notorious illegal engine there are a bunch of cars running around with Sr20dets,Rb26detts,and rb25dets. I don't know if it illegal or not the reason i asked razor and the other mods to come look and tell us weither or not shells/rolling chassis by them seleves are illegal. I know piecing togetether your own skline is illegal and only a complete idiot or newb would even think bout doing that for road use. I'd rather wait till 2014 and grab a R32. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 07:43 PM Importing the frame/empty shell of a car is illegal. Because that is the car. So no go. nitrous36 03-10-2005, 07:49 PM If you want an 89 R32 there legal in Canada now. So you could store one there until it becomes legal here. If you have the money. nismo_power 03-10-2005, 09:15 PM like nitrous said, importing a shell is still illegal. it doesnt matter because the car was never legal for american road use, so you cannot even have the shell. the other engine i was reffering to is the sr20det, which is also illegal in the united states, same with any rb series or ca series. Dreamspawn 03-11-2005, 01:39 AM Kk that was my ? are shells illegal thanks for answering. How do u get the Ca,Sr,Rb engine are illegal there are tones of cars running around with them. Some of which have passed emissions in states that require. What bout them is illegal, how are ppl getting away with having them in there cars. nismo_power 03-11-2005, 08:55 AM they are non-origionally comforming engines that werent produced in the united states. illegal right there. just because a bunch of people have it, doesnt make it right. Dreamspawn 03-11-2005, 01:38 PM The SR20de was put into some us car stock. Certain year maximas*sp*, and pulsars. I fig if they were illegal when ppl go through customs wouldn't they get held, what bout when they go through smog testing wouldn't they say somthing then. Ne how i learned somthing new. nismo_power 03-11-2005, 02:14 PM yes, the sr20de was offered in the united states. but its a completly different engine. the sr20de was FWD, not RWD and made considerably last power. the motor is no problem to get shipped it, and you can have them, but once you put it in a car it becomes illegal. heres the rules: 1.) the engine must be from the same manufacturer of the car 2.) the engine must have been available as an option in the model of car you are putting it in from the same manufacturer. 3.) the engine must have been available in the united states as an option in the model of car you are putting it in. 4.) the engine must conform with california states emissions laws. oh i know alot of people that swap sr20det's in their 240's, and some of them have passed emissions with only a new cat. its hard to explain to people that the engine is actually illegal, because its such a popular swap. but now you see how people get away with putting 5.0 v8's in early 90's and 80's mustangs. Dreamspawn 03-11-2005, 10:41 PM Why does it have to meet CA emissions? Also if u put like a 454/572 in camaro that woudl be illegal? Since its not a option for that car. nismo_power 03-12-2005, 03:57 AM yes itd be illegal to put it in a camaro. not only is it not an option, but its made by a different manufacturer. all imported cars into the united states (minus race and show cars) need to meet california emissions laws because of californias such high standards now. Dreamspawn 03-12-2005, 01:50 PM So even if i had a car sent to FL it would have to meet CA emmisions. btw chevy made a 572 never in a productin vechicle but as a crate engine. I'm sry for all the questions but i've never herd nething bout engines being illegal. nismo_power 03-12-2005, 01:54 PM crate engines are exceptions, because its considered an option for any car that it would fit in as long as its from the same manufacturer. Dreamspawn 03-12-2005, 02:42 PM LEARN TO TAKE THE CAPS OFF, btw motorex was the only ppl that could legalize GTR. If u want to believe fall into this go ahead but do not talk bout around here b/c it is illegal talk and u will go banned or verbally beat by everybody in here. jcsaleen 03-12-2005, 03:00 PM Bah motorex sucks + there outa business! nice R33. Btw ~ skylineUsa - You visiting N.Y anytime soon I still have to intro you to my R.I who IS Legit. CellularSTD 03-12-2005, 03:01 PM Motorex Was Not The Only Place That Could Legalize It. Streetconcepts Did It Aswell. Do You Know What It Takes To Legalize A Car, Or Start A Company That Can? And I Dont Think That There Is A Thing Called Illeagal Talk. Freedom Of Speech. Also If You Think That Im Some Noob Your Wrong. This Is Why I Have This Name, To See How Many People Think They Know What There Talking About When There Directing There Statments To Noobs. And With Only 395 Post Your The Noob Compared To My 2,535 Post On My Real Name. And Another Thing, If I Want To Type In Caps I Think I Will. Talk To You Later Man... jcsaleen 03-12-2005, 03:17 PM Motorex Was Not The Only Place That Could Legalize It. Streetconcepts Did It Aswell. Do You Know What It Takes To Legalize A Car, Or Start A Company That Can? He's right there are 7 other R.I's who have the capablilities at anytime to legalize a skyline. Dreamspawn 03-12-2005, 03:21 PM Dude first of off i'm not saying its illegal to talk bout it but bringing a skyline that has not been legalized by motrex is illegal. They are the only ppl that had the proprietary information on what needed to be done so even if sombody else knew they would have to have approval from the NHSTA, USDOT, and EPA. I didn't say your were noob nor did i hint at it. I've never seen you name around b4 so i was just trying to give u alittle help so none of the mods or nebody else would bash u. I'm sry if offended you. If u want to type in caps feel free its just kindy annoying to some of us but hey its your life. As for all the legalizing getting started sutff if u want i'll ask sean the guy from rbmotoring. Or u can last i saw he was in the 2001 GTR N1 AF car thread. Btw who did streetconcepts have do there crash tests? CellularSTD 03-12-2005, 03:34 PM I Know Nothing About Any Crash Test. And If Your Hinting At You Have To Have A Crash Test To Leaglize Cars Your Wrong. I Am A Sponsord Driver For Ecperformance, Who Also Imports Cars. Talk To Tim Court The Owner And He Will Tell You What You Need To Do To Legalize Them. I Just Know That Motorex Is Not The Only Place That Can Legaize Gtr's. Another Thing Is Its Not Illeagle To Have A Non Legalized Car In The States. You Have A Year To Do So After It Comes In The States, And Ou Still Dont Have To Legalize It. You Can Get Them On A Show Lease, That You Pay Like 2000 Per Year To Keep Current. The Only Thing Is, Is That You Cant Drive It. Its A Trailer Baby Only. Alot Of Companys Do That When They Plan On Raffeling Off The Car. Saves Them On The Cost. Dreamspawn 03-12-2005, 03:42 PM You need the crash test results to know how the car will react in the case of a wreack. If u don't have that then there are some serious issues. Ecperformance? how come they are not on the offical RI list http://nhtsa.com/cars/rules/import/web_RI_list02012005.html Show car be drove 2500 miles in a year. Also i belive to do so u have to have list of car shows of which you are attending and i belive your results. I know to get one in as a race car u have to do the same. Either way in 5 years it has to go back home. If don't believe me i can ask one of the mods to come in here and verify the information. also check this please http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=109370 O and nismo power thanks for all the info man. Did we ever found out if the skyline that started this whole is legit? i know they were talking bout where the vin place holder is supposed to be it wasn't there. nismo_power 03-12-2005, 04:14 PM i dont know, i would assume it is, but then again...there are more than a handful illegal skylines in the united states right now. nismo_power 03-12-2005, 04:16 PM spam spam spam yada yada spam you may think that is true, but if you look at the DOT's list of approved RI's able to legalize skylines, youll only find one name. i think you should be banned for this kind of shit, weve had it happen way to much in the past. plus i looked at that website, it looks like they made it aol page maker. it also has the markings of a true scam website (I.E. no physical adress). Dr. Love 03-12-2005, 04:46 PM Whoa there are actually cars that are illegal in the US?! This is the the stupidest thing I have ever heard! Fuck the government, who are they to tell me what I can drive and what I can't? So much for the US being a free country. We are more restricted in what we can do than the people in countries our media tells us are so oppressive. Like Russia, according to our media it's an oppressive country and not free like ours, but no cars are illegal there, they don't even need VIN's, anyone willing to pay the money for the licence plates can drive whatever they want. Its the MAN! Keep us down! The gov't is killing our counrty, to bad the majority of American's are not bright enough to vote for the less of 2 evils. Why do you think I am staying over in Europe. I have a lot more freedom here, than I ever did back in the States. You know how many drive by shooting I have seen in this whole courty in the last 3 years, maybe 4. You'll get that on one slow night in L.A. alone. jcsaleen 03-12-2005, 04:53 PM Thats the way it works. We have higher standards of saftey + our roads are 10x as congested so safety before speed. SkylineUSA 03-12-2005, 05:19 PM Thats the way it works. We have higher standards of saftey + our roads are 10x as congested so safety before speed. No they are not 10x more congested. It takes me 2 hours sometimes to go 10 miles during rush hour. Its because you agencies that have made up the rules, wrote them down to be inforced, and now you have to live with it. Things like that are not going to change, they are the fat cats, and they don't give a damn, except they are right, and making the policies abd getting paid out the ass in the gov't jobs. jcsaleen 03-12-2005, 08:33 PM Nyc in grid lock is possible the worst traffic ever. Thats why there are more auto's in Ny. nitrous36 03-12-2005, 08:51 PM What would you think about going to Canada or Mexico and storing a car there until its legal here? Ok, I wouldnt trust doing it in Mexico but maybe Canada. It would be a way to obtain the car you want while its still readibly available and in decent shape. You wouldnt be able to see or drive it as periodlically as you would like or know whats happening to it, but would you still do it? Dr. Love 03-12-2005, 09:31 PM I have a question. What makes the Skyline so special that people are actually willing to go thru all this trouble to have one? It can't be its performance, because there are many cars which are much faster yet perfectly legal (eg Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis). Also I completely fail to see the logic behind the 15 year rule. If they don't want the cars imported for safety reasons because they don't meet crash test ratings or whatever, shouldn't it make more sense to only allow the NEWER versions of the car, since the newer it is the better it will survive in a crash? This is just way too much trouble to go thru to own a car which doesn't seem that impressive to me, to be honest, compared to cars such as Porsches and Ferraris which can be easily bought without all this hassle. jcsaleen 03-12-2005, 09:49 PM rarity, import rep saying you have a skyline, a piece of history and the overall tuneability. nitrous36 03-12-2005, 10:38 PM What would you think about going to Canada or Mexico and storing a car there until its legal here? You wouldnt be able to see or drive it as periodlically as you would like or know whats happening to it, but would you still do it? Come on whats your opinions? CBXweb 03-13-2005, 12:02 AM Shell? Like Rolling Chassie? If u import a rolling chassie what would they do let u take it away? I've never herd of nebody importing rolling chassies. Damn I didnt know the thread blew up like this. Then again you guys started talking about traffic in NY :uhoh:. Well these guys sell Shells, They have an ECR33 for sale right now. Me, personally, Im not going nuts off a Skyline anymore, not until I start making "Skyline money". If I was going to get a shell, I'd get a DC2, EG6, or EF9 http://www.gspeedcorp.com/clips/index.htm nitrous36 03-13-2005, 12:12 AM What do you think of evolution imports? nismo_power 03-13-2005, 12:51 AM like i already said, its been proven to be a scam site nitrous. as far as storage goes, do you know how expensive it is to store a car? 300 bucks a month if you want a good decent secure spot, and even more if you want refrigeration and air tight seals on the unit. oh and as far as the logic behind the 25 year rule, my opinion is that it is due to the economy. i think that if the goverment were to allow anybody to bring in cars from other countries, thats less money that is going to go to american auto makers, in turn meaning less money the government gets because companies wont have such high volume. then again, that is only my opinion. jcsaleen 03-13-2005, 12:52 AM fraud nitrous36 03-13-2005, 01:33 AM like i already said, its been proven to be a scam site nitrous. as far as storage goes, do you know how expensive it is to store a car? 300 bucks a month if you want a good decent secure spot, and even more if you want refrigeration and air tight seals on the unit. oh and as far as the logic behind the 25 year rule, my opinion is that it is due to the economy. i think that if the goverment were to allow anybody to bring in cars from other countries, thats less money that is going to go to american auto makers, in turn meaning less money the government gets because companies wont have such high volume. then again, that is only my opinion. I know. The expenses are another downside, disadvantage, and trade off. I have mentioned that one time before when talking about this. But it would be know problem if you knew someone in that country that could hold the car for you and let you park it in there yard. And yes they are there in favor of the economy, so the rules and laws are there to help the economy also. Kind of like protective teriffs which raise the price on foriegn goods. nitrous36 03-13-2005, 01:38 AM Damn I didnt know the thread blew up like this. Then again you guys started talking about traffic in NY :uhoh:. So what do you think about that purple GTR this threaded started out about being legal? With the issue of the vins and all. nitrous36 03-13-2005, 02:09 AM Its the MAN! Keep us down! The gov't is killing our counrty, to bad the majority of American's are not bright enough to vote for the less of 2 evils. Why do you think I am staying over in Europe. You'll get that on one slow night in L.A. alone. Yeah you are right. The U.S. government is alittle fucked up. That supports the saying be aware of too much democracy yet not enough. At 18 you can own a gun but you cant drink until 21. When you say the lesser of 2 evils Im guessing you mean people should of voted Gore over Bush in 2000 and Kerry over Bush in 2004. Heres another joke. When Bush was a young boy he chopped down his fathers cherry tree. The father said: Who chopped down my cherry tree. Bush said: I can not tell a lie. I though it was weapons of mass destruction. nicotine251 03-13-2005, 02:30 AM rolling chaisis would require you to 1.) either cut it in half to import it to bring it in or to. 2.) post bonds to bring th entire car over. CBXweb 03-13-2005, 06:36 AM So what do you think about that purple GTR this threaded started out about being legal? With the issue of the vins and all. oh that thing is soooooooooo illegal its not even funny. I dont like the guy that owns it so Im going to keep the pics up. Funny thing is he's some ricer stunna or something, he was showing off his Z32 TT (the slowest TTZ I ever seen!) at one of the local meets. I guess he's too chicken sh*t to bring out the R33, even though its about as legal as cocaine (meh kinda a bad analogy). From what I see out here (not heard online) its not as hard as you think to get a JDM car out here, getting it (and even to your house) isnt as hard as you think, but making it 100% legal is the hardest part I hear. I personally seen a 180SX and a PS13 out here. I know for a fact the PS13 isnt legal dont know about the RPS13 though. Please dont ban me, Im just saying the things I see and know. Dr. Love 03-13-2005, 09:30 AM Yeah you are right. The U.S. government is alittle fucked up. That supports the saying be aware of too much democracy yet not enough. I though it was weapons of mass destruction. Hahahaha I saw mad tv last nite too, that was hilarious. Actually I don't think the democrats are the lesser of the two evils in this case because it's the democrats who want a bigger government, more restrictions and regulations. Remember, right wing = less government, left wing = more government and more interference in how people run their lives. nismo_power 03-13-2005, 01:57 PM actually left = less government, letting people do more so what they want. right = very very up tight about laws, and "christianity". so.... left = libera (this is where democrats fall)l right = conservative (this is where republicans fall) this about it. the right wing believes very firmly in god, they are against abortion, against gay marraige, and against anything that they dont agree with.
