Question '04 cav oil plug? and filter?

i just got this car from a friend, seems that i cant find the oil pan plug and cant find where the filter goes? i think i might have the plug but its right next to a bunch of other bolts the same size, and the oil filter is one of those new economy types where you have the insides to it and you have the casing permanant in the car, a listing said my car uses a CH9018 if i use fram. anyone experience this problem before and can help?

Re: '04 cav oil plug? and filter?

My guess would get under the car and look around on the oil pan on the bottom with a flash light or drop light... and then look up in front of the motor and you should see an oil filter. I think the plug will be in the back part of the pan like towards the rear of the car... my guess is if you cant find it by looking you should bring it to jiffy lube...

Re: '04 cav oil plug? and filter?

the filter housing is accessed from under the hood on the front of the block right under the air intake you will see a large plastic cap use a short 1 1/4 socket and extension to remove it, the filter just snaps into the cap. instead of using a junky fram filter you should use an ac-delco(GM) filter it takes a PF456G. the drain plug is easy to find it's on the rear of the oil pan, it takes a 15mm to remove. oh yeah your engine will take exactly 5L of 5w-30
