'01 LSI DRL and OE struts

You folks have answered my question about swapping the Corolla taillight assembly for my Prizm lights--won't work. Now, then. I've tried disabling the Daytime Running Lights, but I can't seem to get that to happen. Is there a way? Also, who was the OEM of the struts on this '01 LSI? What's a good replacement that will eliminate that "floatiness" in the front end? Thanks.
