bogging at idle

I have a 97 sl2, it starting shifting a little hard and i was right at 3,000 so I did an oil change. That fixed the problem for a couple of days. I let my car sit over the weekend, and when starting it up again it almost died. I had a problem with my first cylinder leaking so I checked my spark plug and it was covered in oil. Any ideas on how I can get this leak to stop/slow down would be much appreciated!!!

Re: bogging at idle

oil leaking into the spark-plug hole is a bad valve cover gasket, the oil can allow a second path to ground for the plug wires leading to a weak spark.

there are repair instructions in the "how-to" section of Saturnfans.com posted by Wolfman (it may be listed as cam cover gasket)
