Intake Manifold Gasket Repair
What a bummer job, but I did it and the car is running (so far) without a leak and misfiring! I read this forum, contacted members privately, and got a Haynes manual to save my daughter $$$$. I really didn't have the time nor patience, however, my ego said try it!
You can view some photo's on the member gallery. I did a step by step writing of the process, but the paper is now full of oil. I also turned up the stereo in the garage as my choice words for the engineers at our automotive plants who think the car engine designs are funny!
Okay, I feel good as it is done, however, when I read about some of the members going after head gaskets, pistons, rods, etc, I say go for it!
As far as being a wimp, I also wore plastic gloves so the grease/oil wouldn't get in the finger nails!
Oh well, what is next on my 90 and 96 Lumina? Maybe it is easier to put a "For Sale" sign on them and get the 10year 100,000 mile warranty car?
Whew
