prgramming wireless entry

I have an 04 TB that came with one programmed wireless entry remote and a second that needed to be programmed. I followed the directions provided in this forum to program the second remote:

HOLD FINGER DOWN ON UNLOCK POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH ON DRIVERS DOOR.
Put key in ignition, TURN IGNITION ON / OFF , ON / OFF.LEAVE KEY IN IGNITION.(DO NOT START VEHICLE, ON POSITION IS THE POSITION BEFORE START)
RELEASE FINGER FROM POWER DOOR LOCK.POWER DOOR LOCKS WILL CYCLE.(JUMP UP AND DOWN)
PRESS AND HOLD BOTH THE LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS ON NEW REMOTE UNTILL YOU HEAR POWER DOOR LOCKS CYCLE.(JUMP UP AND DOWN) YOU MAY HAVE TO HOLD BOTH BUTTONS DOWN FOR 5- 20 SECONDS.
TAKE 2ND NEW , OR OLD REMOTE AND HOLD BOTH UNLOCK AND LOCK BUTTONS DOWN UNTILL LOCKS CYCLE.(MAY TAKE 5- 20 SECONDS)
TURN KEY ON, THEN OFF.
YOU ARE DONE, EXIT VEHICLE AND TRY YOUR REMOTE.

Works great except for one hitch. Seems when the second remote gets programmed, the first one no longer works. Then, when reprogramming the first one (same steps), the second one won't work. Any thoughts or ideas? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

Re: prgramming wireless entry

You need to program ALL remotes wehn you add one. So, before you turn the ignition on....you need to program the first, then after the confrimation (lock cycle), program the next one. I think you can program a max of four remotes...2 #1 and 2 #2.

Thanks. I will give it a shot. That's why I like this this forum. It'll be great to have both remotes working.

Re: Re: prgramming wireless entry

Worked like a charm. Now I have 2 functional keyless entry remotes. And to think the dealers will charge up to $80 for this. Thanks again.
