Re: tires
jan 02 issue of chevy high performance
there is an article devoted specificly to what size tire and rim combinations will fit in the camaro wheel wells of all four generations. I dont have the magazine here, and have too much to get done today to find it on the website, but its a start.

Re: tires
well i have a 91 rs with 16 inch rims and i have 235-60-16 and those are too big for the front, they rub when i make a hard turn.so if you have 16 inch rims i would go with the 235-55-16

Be careful. What will fit on one Camaro won't always fit on another. The R/S's front ground effects wrap into the wheel well a bit and will prevent using as wide a tire that say an IROC could use.
Know your tire sizing also, what number means what.
ie 245/50/16 245 is tread width in mm, 50 is the aspect ratio of sidewall heigth to tread width, and of course 16 is the wheel diameter in inches...isn't it wonderful how the tire industry mixes english and metric measurements?
In the 16" stock wheels I know a 255/50/16 will fit and clear on an IROC but it won't fit on the RS.
The RS's with 16" rims came with 235/55/16 tires, you MIGHT be able to use the 245/50/16 but not if you lower the car.
