How to get the quietest sound from a 1995 95 camry 4cyl 2drastint1 02-27-2005, 10:16 AM Hello all, i have a 95 Camry 4Cyl 2dr and im tring to get the car quiet as i can get it, i have just replaced the spark plugs and wires and the air filter. I'm at 78000miles and i know i need to replace the timeing belt. What all do i need to make my car more quieter. Its not loud like something is wrong with it, i just want to see if i could make it sound like it did 30k miles ago. P.S. is it true that synthetic oil makes the engine quiter because the oil is thicker?? Back to you. astint1 02-27-2005, 09:14 PM bump Bossman 02-28-2005, 05:21 AM No, not thicker. Synthetic oil is actually molecularly smaller than petroleum oil. I'm not sure if synthetic oil will actually smooth out any engine noises you may be experiencing but it will certainly lubricate every possible orfice in the motor and this may help ever so slightly. I would suggest that you have your exhaust system checked. Any exhaust leaks will produce noise. Also, I wonder if any after market company makes an engine cover for your year. If so, this would keep some of the engine noise down.......just a thought. Lastly, it may be a good idea to check all of your fluid levels, belts and hoses for wear. Best of luck. It is a car! 02-28-2005, 08:39 AM would a valve adjustment help? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
