Air condition knob's light !

Hi there, I took out part of my dash today and I was just wondering if you could change the small lights that illuminate the air condition knob's... (the clear knobs)

They are very tiny (like LED's) , I really dont know if I can get any aftermarket ones (blue).... If anybody knows a place that sells them.

I will be glad to read ^_^

thanks alot for reading my post :P

The HVAC knobs I have on my cav are Red. All they are, are the clear HVAC knobs painted with a weird kind of gel paint on the back and when light shines through them they turn red at night. Best place I can reccomend is e-bay because I honestly don't know where else you can get these seeing as I can't find any anywhere else but on e-bay. Just look for Cavalier HVAC or Cavalier Knobs in the search.

here's proof they exist.

Good luck, happy hunting.

Re: Air condition knob's light !

6. How do I change the color of lights in my HVAC controls or gauges?
A) HVAC: The first thing you'll notice is that these bulbs are damn small. I was originally just going to put covers on them, and then when I realized how small they are (about the size of an LED), I decided I'd just replace them. What you do is up to you, but I'd just replace and/or paint them. Wiring in LEDs is a much more effective route though
B) Gauges: I don't have a 2k+ car, but I have reason to believe (ie, what I've heard here) that it is near impossible to replace the bulbs in those gauges. Replacing the bulbs in a 95-99 is possible, but it takes time and patience. I replaced mine with custom-diffused LEDs (which takes more patience, but probably less time!). For those same bulbs, you can instead just buy covers at any place that has an automotive section, including department stores.

95-99 ---VVV

Even easier is to go to a hardware store and buy a can of Krylon glass paint and paint the back side of the knobs, this will give you the colour without the hassle!
