I've heard a lot of people having problems with using the torsion bars for a lift. Blocks aren't good. You get more spring wrap which is constantly changing the driveshaft angles. Add-a-leaf is a good option. Talk to the dealer about the warantee, and if they say it doesn't void the warantee, GET IT IN WRITING. But that's just to be cautious... the dealership wouldn't try to get out of fixing stuff under warantee, would they? hehe

So I go to this get-together at a friends house, not remembering it's a few days before Halloween. I see a bunch of dirty looking strangers. Then I see a guy that was clearly wearing a Halloween costume and I make the connection, and say "Oh yeah, Halloween... y'all goin' as a group of bums?". Turns out they weren't wearing costumes.

I've never really heard anyone say anything that bad about raising their stock torsion bars, except that it rides rougher. I would recommend new keys though. As far as the back, with blocks you tend to get 'axle wrap'. But it shouldn't be that bad or even really noticeable since you're just looking for a 2" lift. The blocks have a built in angle to allow for the right pinion angle. You could add a leaf or just get re-arched leaf springs as well.

The worst thing I've heard happen was my friends Z-71 with a 6" lift. He was turning a corner and the rear end just fell out. Wasn't as bad as it sounds though.

sounds like he didn't retorqe the u bolts, traction bars or springs can help with spring wrap, and turning the bars up puts more strain on the cv joints on the front shafts and can max out the camber and caster adjustments and cause excessive tire wear or drift

Re: 05 silverado lift question

How hard is it to put the torsion keys in And I was told I could crank the stock ones 1 inch and be safe But if I put the keys in how much do you get putting them in. I would rather put the new ones in.
