What downpipe will give me the best results that will not remove my cat and will be able to pass inspection.

Hanging off the turbocharger is the cat; therefore, all downpipes replace the cat. It's not possible to have it both ways.

On the turbo MR2, there is 2 cats. It is possible to retain the second cat with a downpipe, but not the primary cat.

have you had luck passing the smog test without the primary cat and with secondary cat?

I do not have to pass emissions. I'm exempt.

i don't know if it's true. but i heard that the only states that have to smog check is california and new york. i hate living in california, the smog test is getting tougher every year.

Yea i just found out about that first cat when i got my exhaust done. They gutted that and put a magnaflow high flow cat before my new muffler. Sounds so much better, the turbo whistles much louder.

Lots of states have "smog" or "emissions" test.
Pennsylvania has them. I have to have Jekyl and Jekyl Jr. pass a visual test once a year.

Hyde is exempt based on mileage. As long as he stays under 5000 miles per year, he gets an exemption sticker.

And how can I get one of those stickers? :)

drazhartd, do you live in PA?

It is a Pennsylvania law ... as long as your odometere clocks 5000 or less miles, you get the exempt sticker.
