Hello, I was wondering how I could remove my headlights on my 93' lumina so that I can pop off the lens and wet sand both sides eliminating this yellowish build up that has well... built up. I popped open my hood and saw a few bolts above the lights, I took them out and them the headlight freely wobbled in position but I couldnt get it out do to connections somewhere else, so i popped the bolts back in and headed to the computer for a guide somewhere but found non, so now I am here. Can anyone help me?

There are 6 bolts to remove. Four on top (in pairs of "2" each at the top corners of the light. Lift the plastic flap up (located at rear of light), look down and you'll see two more bolts at the bottom of the inner adjuster that you need to remove. Wiggle out the light and you'll be fine. Don't forget to disconnect the lamp connections at the rear of the light assembly. Good Luck

Ok i took out the top 4 bolts then lifted the flap and saw 4 more, there were 2 side by side that looked not to be connected to the lamp and i saw 2 more that didnt look connected to lamp either, all of which were at an angle i couldnt get to with a wrench, I'm stumped again...

Get a electric drill and polishing bonnet attachment, or a electric buffer, go to the auto parts store and pick up a can of paste rubbing compound, and a can of paste polishing compound, about 2.00 a can. Follow directions on can, those two will polish plastic lenses better than anything. Not to mention do wonders on paint, you can poilsh/clean auto glass too, remove scratches, etc (takes time tho) anything more abrasive will put more scratches on all these parts than you remove.

Thanks for the advice john, I would love to wetsand my lights and maybe polish them like you said but I need to get the damn things out of my car first, maybe im just too stupid lol.

Yep !

Those two bolts you mentioned are the ones to go after. They are connected to the adjuster..... and the adjuster is connected to the headlight assembly by way of screws attached into the plastic headlight. It will make sense when you get the light out of the car.

Just use a extension on your ratchet, you'll get it.

Whoohoooo got em off, now I am wondering how I can remove the plastic part, I'm guessing the only way is in the oven.

You can polish the outside of the light but the lens is glued to the housing.If you do manage to seperate it without breaking it you may never get it to seal again .They are built to be air tight,if you do not get it sealed right you will end up with condensation inside your lamp.But if you do get it apart clean out the P.U.R OUT OF THE GLUE CHANEL,AND FILL IT WITH SILICONE,OR RTV.I work for Decoma one of the companies that makes the lamps for GM ,and they are all sealed in basiclly the same way.Good luck.
