1994 Grand Prix 3.4L Idling Problem

Any ideas why my 1994 Grand Prix w/ 3.4L idles very fast (2000 rpm) at startup when cold. Once in closed loop it settles down around 1000rpm. Before that however, it is hunting like crazy - ramps up to around 2000 and then almost stalls around 500 rpm. It continues to do this until temp picks up. Any ideas, thanks for the help.

My 95 GTP 3.4L used to do the same thing, solution was intake gaskets, upper and lower. was only about ~$20 at autozone.

To either of the above posters: Does what I describe in this thread sound like the problem you were having?
