car shakes

I have a 69 beetle with an 1835 engine, i was wondering why when i peel out the whole car feels like its bouncing and shaking. i dont know if its my alignment, wheels need balance, or if my clutch is slipping. any ideas?

Check the transmission mounts.

Also check the dip in the Bowden tube. There should be about 1 1/2 inches slack in it to avoid clutch chatter.

The Bowden tube is the sleeve that the clutch cable runs through from the frame to the transmission.

If there isn't sufficient xlack in the tube, as stated below, the clutch will chatter and vibrate the whole car when you first accelerate.
