Strutts

I have a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix GT and I brought it used, but I didn't know if it would be good if I change the strutts on the car. The car has 145,000 mile and it seems like I would need to change them. How would I be able to tell when I need to get new ones.

Re: Strutts

If they're stock, it's time to change. Many stock struts start to fade in as little as 30,000 miles. Even if they aren't leaking, they probably don't provide much. When you hit a dip in the road, car should bouce once and level off. If you find youself bouncing 2,3,4 times, the struts are shot.
