I noticed that when I turn the key to on and do not start the car, there is a continous buzzing sound coming from the transmission. The sound is more obvious when the car is parked in a garage. I took the car to the dealer today and first a mechanic came out and listen to it and he said that he never noticed it before and he'll compare if other camry's do that too. Anyway later I was told that the SLT solenoid in the transmission is making that sound and it is normal. I still have 1000 miles left on warranty. Can any one please verify if this is a normal sound. The sound is only noticable with the gear in park, key turned to on and car not running. I'll appreciate any feedback.

I have a 2000 LE 4cyl and it does the same thing at stop lights etc. I noticed it at around 60000 and I currently have 80000. I know of other camry owners that noticed this too. I don't yet know if it's a problem but if you find out anything let me know!
