do you think i can tune my Camry succesfully? performance/interior mods..

Our family car is a 98 camry and i want to see what i can do with it when i go to college. Right now all my friends are like... no.. u can't do anything with ur camry we'll pwn ur ass..

i really want to show them what i can do.. cause i mean it is FWD and they usually understeer and since i haven't driven a RWD or AWD i don't really know the handlig differences. i mean does it really make such a huge difference that tuning a camry will make me look that retarded?
well i am kinda going for tuning a retarded car.. keep the "look" stock.. none of those loud ass mufflers and stuff, just some tinted windows. and a lowered body

Right now i'm looking at a full suspension upgrade.. coil over, damper, shocks but its kinda hard to find one for the 98 camry..
so its like handling first..

then maybe switch out the engine and find a good FWD one which fits and then intake, exhaust, and turbo.. iunno.. im still a noob..

so you think i can get this to work? could y'all maybe give me some hints? gotta start somewhere -.-

-thnx guys

What engine and tranny does it have? Also they do torquesteer but the effect it has to you going down the road is left to you. It is easily correctable by making the proper steering adjustments. As for modifications you can do is pretty limited. But from my research there are TRD Lowering Springs, SuperCharger(V6),Exhaust muffler(V6), Air Filters which look to be made by Fram(V6 and I4). But there are intake systems, computer tuning you can do as well. I am sure there is a company upgrading the brakes. You need to keep in mind the parts will not give the power they claim. You need to see what will and won't work. Saying this is going to give me 40HP and this is going to give me 20HP is ricer math.I hope this helps.

If your going with suspension first. Get the Tien Coilovers and the TRD rear sway bar which is adjustable. The Tiens will cost around $1200 alone and the sway bar will be $150 at kinderhook toyota (ask for eddie hayeback).

Good Luck

Anything from 99+ solaras chassis will fit 4th gen toyota camrys. Since you have a 5sfe motor, you can get a hold of an intake, headers and exhaust systems. check out my cardomain.
