Re: What will i run??

what kind of work did you do? it depends on the driver and lots of other variables but i would expect low 14's maybe high 13's with 175whp and good tires

did you get it dyno'd or are you guessing?

Talking

aem cai, dc 4-2-1, unorthodox pulleys, obx catback. right now. in a week a dh racing port and polished im with a 74mm tb. along with fuel rail for looks and a fpr for the extra fuel. next month i will have it installed, dynoed, and tuned. so far im guessing about 140-145 to my front wheels. comparing to online dynos and stats.

Re: What will i run??

so you only have maybe 140 to the wheels? i don't think you can get up to 170 whp with bolt on's. you need a turbo, sc, nos. that's the only thing i can think of to get you that high. or maybe a full rebuild bigger cams stuff like that.

it is all bout the driver. i don't care how much power you have, you have to drive it. i have raced alot of faster cars and beat them. so it's all on the driver. my integ ran a 15.9 and it's on got skunk2 intake manifold, dc headers, short ram intake, B&M fuel press reg, BBK fuel pump, and 2 1/4 cat back. nothing to big.

Re: What will i run??

The intake manifold and the FPR are going to net you about 1-3hp. You need higher compression pistons and more agressive cams to make the ported IM give you any real power increase. You stock IM will flow enough air to supply the setup you have now. Also 74mm TB is way too big unless you plan on an extreme N/A build or big boost.

Wink

not true fellas the im and tb combo from dh-racing.com is guaranteed 20 hp at the wheels. I know, i know... sounds a little like bs. but check out the site. and next month we will all know if it is correct

Re: What will i run??

It doesn't matter what their site says, every aftermarket part web site claims higher gains than they will really give. But make sure you post when you're done with everything and prove us all wrong.

Re: What will i run??

well here is the deal, lets take a civic, integra and a mustang. we put the TB and IM on all the cars. then we dyno them. the mustang come out with more power. so there you have it, that is what they will put up. your car can only put out what it aready has. a TB and IM only lets you release some of the power you already have, it's not realy giveing you anything. your stock motor is not hideing 20 exstra hp. like whtteg said, you need bigger cams and pistons to get that kinda power on an N/A. and yes that TB is to damn BIG. you may wanna start looking into fuel upgrades like now.

That site is a crap site and I can't stand how they are tring to take advantage of people who know nothing. They feed on people who have very limited knowlegde, they feed on people who think "Bigger is better". Well bigger is not always better, you have to maintain velocity in the air flow. With a TB that big you will have very little velocity, the motor will actually be getting less air than if you had a 65mm or 67mm TB.

i figure f*ck it i really have nothing to loose. it's only 500 bucks which is competative or better than any other im and tb combos. my knowledge is not limited granted i may not know as much as you, but im not asking if it is possible i was asking what i would run. The only way to find out is to try it....i will keep everyone informed and i will also post before and after dyno's. im kinda skeptical too.

Exactly...in a different way. There are too many variables for anyone to tell you what you'll run in the ¼ mile, even if you do dyno it and tell everyone what kind of power you're making. Temperature, altitude, driving ability, launching ability, slicks vs street tires, etc; all together will give you different times. The only way to know is to run it at the track.

Your knowledge was not in question. I was simply tring to help you see that they rip people off. But if you want to throw your $500 dollars away then so be it, I really don't care.

no one is flamming you we're just trying to give you some advice on using your money wisely.

with that being said... you say "only 500 bucks". put that $500 towards some good cams and i guarentee you'll put out at least 4X the amount of power you'll get from the TB and IM.
