Strange problem sharking a 3 & a 5

I ordered the appropriate Sharks from Turner automotive and experienced a strange problem. First the 5, I took the car in and had a mechanic install the shark. He hooked up the battery charger, and attempted to install the software after about a half hour of charging. We kept getting a code of 123 which means low voltage. We kept trying with no go. With a phone call to Turner, it was advised to disconnect the Canadian running lights. Again we tried with the same results.

I had a shark ordered for the 330xi so we thought we'd install that and send the other shark back for a new one. Again the same routine, but this time we took out the appropriate fuses, but also turned off the heated mirrors, and disconnected the day running lights. We charged the battery for 45 minutes at 300 amps. Still the same thing, a 123 code for low voltage.

In the 5 we thought maybe it was the battery so I installed a new battery on the 97 528i, but still with no installation of the shark software - any ideas out there?
