spare tire holder???

has anyone ever cut out that hump for the spare tire. I need more room in my trunk for speakers and other stuff. i wanted to find out what i need to do before i cut a big hole in my car

i saw some guy do it on cardomain.com he just cut it away and took all the plastic boxes around it and he got heaps of trunk room

You cant really cut it out. As talskinyguy said watch out for the gas tank. It is right there. I read a thread wheere the previous owner of someones car had beat in the hump and actaulyl damaged the tank. You cant do much about it.

would it work if i dropped the tank then cut it? i need to do drop the tank anyway so i can clean all of the dirt on top of it.

What do you think you will accomplish by cutting it? The Tank sits RIGHT below the floor in the hatch area. Thats why there is so little room. Keep your spare tire in the car, its worth it.
