How would you react?free2roamaz 02-14-2005, 10:37 AM Ok, I drive an '01 Tiburon, and I have been wanting to come across my first kill, but yet I do not like to step up to the line, w/out having the kick to back it up, and since I only have a CAI thus far, I have been hesitant. Well the other night, at around 3 or 3:30am, I am cruising at about 70mph down the freeway. I come pulling up to this interesting looking car. Looking at it more, I couldnt tell exactly what it was due to lack of lighting and our speed. It was a sweet looking ride: full body kit, gunmetal rims, sponsor stickers and decals, ground effects. So I decide to speed up just a little, to nudge ahead of him. He accelerates and starts speeding up at a higher rate. I smile, although I am almost positive I will lose, I slam the pedal. I ended up catching up, and at about 105/110mph i find myself almost a full car length, maybe a little less. I was wondering why he wouldnt pass me, so I let some pressure off the gas thinking he let me get ahead, but as I dropped to no less than 95mph, he slowly passed me, so I dropped back to 70mph and cruised. Was this guy for real? I still dont know whether to claim a solid kill, or if he was holding back, or what. Part of me thinks he was all show, no go. The other part thinks he coulda waxed me, but I wasnt worth it. Let me know what you think. -Josh- 02-14-2005, 10:55 AM Impossible to tell, you were the one there and since you dont even know what the car was there's no way to even compare. TatII 02-14-2005, 11:08 AM or he could just be one of those all show cars. with all bark and no bite. PWRDbyUNCLEbens 02-14-2005, 11:19 AM or he could just be one of those all show cars. with all bark and no bite. Typically when your going 105mph your WOT (atlleast for cars like ours) I don't see a reason in cruising at 105mph unless im racing balls out. Too bad you don't know what kind of car then you could make a better judgment of wether he was racing. ac427cpe 02-14-2005, 12:14 PM There is so much slow rice here in Phoenix, call it a kill. ;) Musashi3000GT 02-14-2005, 01:00 PM yeah but killed what? silentscreams85 02-14-2005, 02:05 PM yeah but killed what? i second that...what did you race exactly? street_racer_00 02-14-2005, 03:06 PM It was probably a riced-out civ...I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and saying you whooped his arse. Underground_Killah 02-14-2005, 03:31 PM yea, just assume the other guy was trying... the 01 tib isn't slow in the least (my girl has one) but it's not a rocker either, more than likely it was a civic... i see alot with emblems removed and tags taken off free2roamaz 02-14-2005, 03:45 PM Sorry for sounding new, but what does WOT stand for? And as far as what car it was, I myself am upset that I didnt catch it. I know it wasn't a Civic, (seen so many of those hard to not catch it.) I wanna say Nissan is the first thing that comes to mind, trying to think of what the car looked like exactly. I was more focused on my line of sight since I thought it was goin to be more of a challenge. Thourun 02-14-2005, 03:51 PM Wide Open Throttle. ASTAutoSales 02-14-2005, 04:08 PM look around at tailights on the net, might see something. i say no kill unless yiu know what it is. even remotely free2roamaz 02-14-2005, 04:27 PM Ok, thanx Thourun. But I will browse around for the car, because I would recognize it if I saw it again. free2roamaz 02-14-2005, 04:55 PM I surfed around on the net and now I am sure it was an Acura Integra. Not sure if it was a Type R, it didnt have a hatchback, but deffinately and Integra. ASTAutoSales 02-14-2005, 05:14 PM cool....could you find a year range/body style TatII 02-14-2005, 05:18 PM a non hatch back teg are the four door sedans. so no its not a type R, plus a type R would make short work of your tib like nothing. so its probrably a 4 door LS or GS or RS. free2roamaz 02-14-2005, 05:33 PM It was a '99 2 Door, CL-Series....(as far as I can tell through comparison.) PWRDbyUNCLEbens 02-14-2005, 06:06 PM I surfed around on the net and now I am sure it was an Acura Integra. Not sure if it was a Type R, it didnt have a hatchback, but deffinately and Integra. I highly doubt it was a type R as you would get owned at 100mph. free2roamaz 02-14-2005, 06:32 PM Yeah, I know its not Type-R. As I said earlier, I am almost positive that it ws the CL-Class. PWRDbyUNCLEbens 02-14-2005, 07:00 PM sorry didn't mean to repost I just now saw page 2 :screwy: street_racer_00 02-14-2005, 07:35 PM Acura CL or Integra...which one is it? free2roamaz 02-14-2005, 08:47 PM Hell if I know. Its all so confusing. Car classification is not my strong point. I am just goin mostly with what my friend, who was with me, is tellin me it could have been. As far as I knew, CL and Integra were one in the same (I never liked Acura anyways.) Goin with Integra, final answer. TatII 02-15-2005, 12:00 AM 99 cl's are a 3.2 liter v6, and looks nothing like a teg. they are also quit big cars. a teg has a flat back with long taillights and the car is very small. the CL is the same size as a 2004 accord coupe. a teg is the same size as a civic coupe. big difference in size. the CL also has a very nice interior while the tegs are very cheap. but either way, yeah i'm goin to have to say Teg would be the final answer. It would have had to have been one really, really fast car to "keep up" at a 105 mph when he went WOT, at what, 80? Sounds to me like a straight ricer. Stickers, body kit...that's the formula.
