1999 GA GT Startup

ok, i'm not sure if I can explain this exactly how it happens, cuz i'm really dumb when it comes to cars, lol

I just recently bought a 1999 Grand Am GT, i f'n love it! i had to get the driver's side window and sunroof fixed within an hour of purchase, but they did it for free, so i'm wasn't too pissed or really worried about keeping the car, i love it! I love Pontiacs! lol

but anyways, onto my problem.... maybe someone else has had this happen to them too?

when I start up my car, it just doesn't seem like it wants to start up.... i will put the key in, turn it right away and it just seems like it doesn't want to start up, then it will finally kick in and start up. sometimes when it does that, the battery light, oil light, and service engine soon light will come on... so i turn the car off again, take key out, put key back in and turn it on and it starts up (sometimes rough again), and the lights are off. some other times, i will get in, and put the key in and the car starts up right away, with a nice growl i might add, just as normal as can be... can someone tell me why this is doing this?

like i said, i am dumb with cars, but could the spark plugs maybe need changed? or perhaps I need to get some fuel injector cleaner? my friend told me that i need to just wait for the fuel injector to get a little gas going, after turning the key over to accessories, then turning it all the way on.... but even when i turn it half-way, then turn it on completely, it wll still rough start....

any help is greatly appreciated thank you

same here, if i figure it out, i'll get back wth you too, lol

i have no complaints about the car or american engineering really, it just aggrivates me when it sounds like shit starting up, lol, and some hottie's walking by, you just want it to start up right away and growl at her.. lmao...

but last night, i was at Super-W and i got some STP fuel injector cleaner and today it still made that "big" attempt to start up right away, again.... BUT it is like 15 degrees here also, so it could be anything at this point
