Bio Motorcyle Trike...yes I said bio!

Well, I've never been accused of being normal. My name is Daemien, the screen name "Greasy" is because I want to convert my motorcycle triek to run on vegetable oil. I am married, no kids, great wife, one cat, I work as a eBay reseller in St.Louis, MO. and sell books online to help finance my trike project.

I already built the trike based on a 73 VW Drivetrain and it's fun to drive. I did some research and got really interested in building a bio car. Well I came up with the idea of converting my trike to Jetta power with an adapter then converting the Jetta Diesel engine to run on waste vegetable oil.

So I am now saving money for the parts, I need a Jetta Diesel engine, an adapter and enough beer to feed a small army so I can bribe my friends to come over and help (they would anyway).

I have one HUGE question that I can't seem to get any reponse from the Jetta board.

Will an adapter made to mate a gas Jetta engine to a VW Bug work with a Diesel Jetta engine?

In other words, at the point that the gas engine and diesel engine connect to the Jetta transmission, are they the same?

There should be no problems as they are physically the same. On some years the only difference was the size of the clutch & flywheel, but that is easy enough to deal with.
