yes i know this is gonna sound wicked coincidental but i was coming out of school and i spotted this Black GTI VR6 about 3 cars ahead of me....Ive been wanting to race the kid for a few days now but we've always gone different ways out of school....I had 2 friends in the car and i began to pursue the GTI..I followed closely to let him know i wanted to mess and we both took the highway....The GTI opened it up off the ramp and i barely caught up with it as he switched over a few lanes...I had the gas floored the whole time and i still couldnt gain on him until we hit mild traffic..I finally got beside him and tryed to look cool as i passed him.....he switched to another lane and as he got off the highway i gave a thumbs up for giving a good chase....

GTIs are good little cars. Those VW/Audi motors have potential...But I'd rather havea GLI with the 1.8t...all ya need is a chip, and that thing can haul all balls. Good race

Just be cautious of him spraying....If the guys being honest and it only has minor bolt-ons then you will definitly beat him...I believe a stock VR6 hits 60mph in 6.8-7.0s while a Mustang GT accomplishes that feat in 6.1-6.2s

Actually I accomplish that feat in mid 5s.

Well, it seems as though you have enlightened Dampachi and let him know what he's up against. Also, what year was it exactly though? Aren't the 2001 GTI VR6's like 170 HP? I'm pretty sure he would have taken you, but then again, the Stang has some "massive torque" doesn't it? Either way, good race, and atleast you stayed with him. I was proud to stay with a Grand Am.
