Hello all,

This is my first time visiting the Toyota forum, so I hope to find some hardcore Toyota experts that can help me figure out a problem on my mom's car; I'm a Chrysler guru, not too knowledgeable about imports. Anyway, My mom has a '95 Camry LE 2.2 and she's had her check engine light on; I was able to retrieve the codes by jumping terminals TE1 and E1 and it spit out a code 71; EGR gast temperature signal is too low. I've physically checked her EGR and it's fine b/c I stalled the engine when I put my vacuum pump to it. Where is the gas temperature sensor or VSV located on this car? I thought I fixed this problem before when the knuckleheads who fixed her car broke off a plastic vacuum piece that sits on top of the water housing by the distributor b/c ironically, that broken piece triggered the light. So if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I'd gladly appreciate it. Again, thank you in advance.

I have had the exact same set of circumstances with my 95 Camry. I decided to order a VSV and now can't find where it goes on the car. So far it doesn't match the pictures I've seen. I know it has been a while and you appear to have received no response, but how did your problem turn out. Did you find the part location.

VSV for EGR is on back of engine under EGR valve.



1 is VSV connector
2 is vacuum hose from EGR valve; connects to port E of VSV
3 is vacuum hose from port "Q" of EGR vacuum modulator to port G of VSV
