Unhappy Stalls

Since I was told that my 94 LHS is the sister car to the Intrepid, I thought I would post here as well as under Chrysler. I hope that's okay.

Here is my problem: At crusing speed my 94 LHS will drop to 200 rpms, sometimes recovering after a few seconds & other times it stalls. This usually happens within the first 10 miles of a 35 mile commute to work. When I brought it in to the dealer, there were no codes in the computer & of course they couldn't duplicate the problem. This has been occurring quite often for months but seems to be getting worse in the last 2 weeks with stalls happening about 75% of the time. (It used to recover most of the time) Any ideas? I'm about at my whits end.....

Has anyone out there had a similar experience?

I have heard of other cars having this problem, it could be the throttle position sensor or there is a computer chip that is on the fritz. Just take it to the dealership and they will be able to tell you what is up.

Intrepid es 3.2
This might be the problem

ok i have a 98 intrepid and it stalled twice before the dam dodge dealer fixed it what it was was a defective wire harness that had some fraied wires and what would happen is the car would go crazy and die and would not turn over the first time what happened the pcm sensor blew they fixed it ..but not fixing the cause the 2nd time the sensor blew again this time they took apart the engine the top black part and found the wires were rubbing up against metal causing a short and blowing the sensor they replaced the wire harness and put in a second sensor ..so you might also have some exposed wires and are rubbing as you drive the wires shift so it might go away and then come back ..i'm pretty sure this is what is going on w/ your car have them check the bulletins also..

Cool stalls....

Hey mo 99,

i hear ya, i have a '95 intrepid es 3.3L doing some of the same things...one thing i did was replace the oxygen sensors. It did help, controlling the fuel to the injectors, but the problem is coming back. Next to do is probably look at the spark plugs, or the throttle postition sensor. I'm having it checked out tomorrow. I'll let u know...

hopefully this cures it....

Re: Stalls

I am also having the same problem on my '95 intrepid 3.3L, I took it in and they explained that it was a vacum leak, check some of the hoses and found one cracked, I thought "problem solved" not a chance, so I picked up the manual for the car and now found that the ABS might have a vacum leak. I will check it out and let you know.

02/24/03 was definetly not the problem!
