2005 Volkswagen Golf GLS TDI

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to lease a 2005 Volkswagen Golf GLS TDI. Does anyone know if they're good vehicles and worth it to spend $26,000 to $30,000 Canadian. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback, comments and suggestions as to if anyone would recommend this car. Also, does anyone know where this model is built?

Thank you,
rokhill

Re: 2005 Volkswagen Golf GLS TDI

They are actually made in Brasil!

My friend has a 2004 Jetta TDI which she hates (it is a lemon) but otherwise I have heard TDIs are great.

I know the exchange rate is bad, but $26-30K Canadian still seems rather steep? I would not pay more than $20K USD for a Golf.

You said you were leasing though, so why would the total price matter? If you lease, at least all the mk4 problems should be fixed for you under warranty.

The new Pumpe Duce TDI's are awesome! They are well worth the money if you drive alot and need a good gas mileage car. The only downside is the $60 oil changes every 5k miles.

well the reason that I'm looking at a Golf GLS TDI is that I've heard that they're very good on mileage.

Definately .. the manual is rated at 38/46 MPG, the slushbox at 32/43 MPG.

But I hope you wouldn't ever consider an automatic anyway
