Seems high. Does your fan come on okay? It should come on at the halfway point on the guage [generally]. Two other standard fixes are check the thermostat for opening, and coolant flush-fill.

Same thing mine does. My fan turns on where your pic shows it to be high and drops a little below 1/2. I think it is ok.

My 97 2.2L Cavalier does fluctuate from those 2 ranges, actually mine even gets a little hotter then that, when sitting in traffic or idleing for a few minutes. It has never redlined but has moved a little past yours.

I have always been a little concerned over it, especially now that lil Cav has just over 110,000 miles and am very concerned about losing my head gasket.
