17in. rims w/ spring or coilover?Shobo 06-27-2001, 06:32 PM I need an opinion...Im gettin 17 inch rims on my p11 and Im not sure if I should get eibach spring or groundcontrol coilover for the money... For loweing the car im not gonna go more lower than the tire..So is it more worth it to buy eibach for 1.3 inch lowering since 17inch rims cover most of the fender gap??? G-Forces 06-27-2001, 06:54 PM Getting 17"s most likely won't fill any fender gap. My experience with aftermarket wheels on un-lowered cars is that they tend to look like 4x4s. If you put on 17" wheels on a stock suspension you'll want lowering springs even more. :silly2: primera man 06-27-2001, 08:00 PM You will definitly need to lower it if thats what you want. The Eibach springs will be fine but you may want to use a new damper if you are going to do it. Putting just 17's will still leave you with almost the same gap as you have now PhantomG20 06-27-2001, 09:52 PM My car has 17's and Eibach springs...I'm getting 18's next month however. You be the judge, this is what it would look like.:sun: poppy_morenito 06-28-2001, 09:24 AM That car is sweet looking which shocks do you have stock ? kenchan 06-28-2001, 01:09 PM dude, definitely lower your car if you're gonna get 17's. if you are planning to use 16's with 205/55 tires, you can probably get away with it. fender gap should be about half the side wall of your car to make it look good, imo. do it the right way the first time. get some TEIN NA's and then get some 17's. :D I'm using soft springs with bottom from the lowest height setting ,but damn my car looks good!!! :D too bad I can't figure out how to attach photo's to my posts here...hummmmm would anyone please teach me? thanx. PhantomG20 06-28-2001, 01:56 PM Yes, I have my stock shocks. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
