can you twin turbo the mkiii? i saw a japanese company that sells cars internationally, and they listed their mkiii's as twin turbo. i even e-mailed them about it and they said itsw accurate. has anyone ever heard of this?

Ahh batfa, save yourself a headache and just forget about importing one now while your ahead. If you want the 1jz-gte engine swap then that's fairly simple now since it's been done and documented so many times. There is a whole 1jz swap section at SupraForums (in MKIII section) if you have any questions that you can't find here. Basicly it will end up costing you at least $4K to do the swap and alot of work, then you'll end up with a stock 2.5L 280hp TT I6. Don't focus on "twin turbos" so much, two is not always better than one. A single will be less complicated, take up less space, less parts to break/buy, make just as much power in almost all examples, the list goes on and on. Now for the GA70, it has a 2.0L TT I6 with a measly 200hp (the 1g-gte), you would be better of with whatever you have now.

well right now i dont have a supra. im looking to buy one, but some people have told me that supras are weak on the low end. i jst figured if i could put in a smaller turbo it would eliminate that problem

Drive one first, take peoples word with a grain of salt because everyones tastes are different. The 7m is a very torque happy motor being is has such a long stroke and relatively low rev limit so thats not a problem at all. If you want faster spool with the CT-26 put a full 3" exhaust and intake on it and you will probably be very suprised by the results.

ive test drove one before that i was looking to buy, and it didnt seem all that powerful, but that is because it was so smooth. when i looked at the speedometer i realized teh acceleration, but i never realized to look for low end torque. if i get a supra and put on a bigger exhaust and intake, would if give me more of a kick? right now before i commit to looking for one car, i want to drive an mr2 and 240sx, but i do like a car with a kick.

People commonly mistake the 2nd Gen MR2 for being "twin turbo" since it is often advertised with it's "twin entry turbo."

There is on twin-turbo MR2 that I know of on the North American continent and it's results were not worth the effort of doing it.

If anything, it is better to twincharge the MR2 (super- and turbocharge it).
