New muffler...not what I expected...why?

I recently installed a new Ravin Z55 muffler($25.00 on Ebay). It worked out allright, but I was expecting it to be a little meaner sounding...maybe a little louder/lower rumble...but there really wasn't much difference at all...if anything, it is more quiet now...did I do something wrong?

All that was replaced was the muffler, and the tailpipe.

Also, I need a concensus, or a list...possibly from BlazerLT...on what to do for my old girl. She is an 89 S10 Blazer. I want to get all the fluids(tfer case, front/rear diffs, etc.) replaced...becasue I don't know when they were done last. I know that I just recently took off the ORIGINAL fuel filter(it looked original). I am also going to be replacing the O2 sensor, and also need to know if there is any better air filters to get for her, or just stick with the stock.

Also, if anyone knows soembody that can help me with carpets and seats for this old bird...I can't afford $200 for new carpet...I don't wanna piss anyone off in here...but you guys are here to help us "newbies", right?

The Ravin Z55 should make a good difference in sound.

It won't be night and day, but it will be better.

As for a tuneup, what did you have ain mind.

List everything and I will add what is missing.

Your vehicle was an 89, maybe there was a hole in the muffler. That would make it louder.

How did you connect the pipes?

There was a hole in the tailpipe before...before it fell off completely! Perhaps that is why it was louder.

I have already replaced the common tune up parts...plugs, wires, cap, rotor, serpentine belt, pcv valve. I bought a new O2 sensor today, and that will be installed.

It just recently started stalling on startup. It died twice yesterday...so I gave it a little more gas than usual on startup, an it was okay...no stall...possible fuel pressure problem?

Time for a fuel filter and you might need to reset the timing by pulling the beige and brown timing wire from the PCM and time the engine to zero with a timing gun.

Then reset the computer by pulling the negative battery cable, reconnect the timing wire and enjoy.
