Re: 96 rodeo starter

I changed the starter out on a 95 rodeo recently. I got the wires off and the mounting bolts off in no time, but couldn't pull the starter out, the exhaust pipe was in the way. After looking at the exhaust and how rusted and seized the bolts were, i decided the best method would be to dissassemble the starter into the 3 peices and take each one out seperately. Once i thought of that, the job was fairly quick.

Re: 96 rodeo starter

My '97 is a 4X2. No problem taking it out after disconnecting the electriacal connections and pulling out the 2 mounting bolts. I had to recover a couple of mounting dowels from the original bracket to use in the remanned starter.
