Diagnostic Error codes

on a 1994 Blazer with electronic transfer case, how would I run the diagnostics on my truck to find out what is exactly wrong with my 4wheel drive? and how do I read it?

Re: Diagnostic Error codes

are you saying you have codes 1 and 2 ??
if so remove all jumper wires off of the aldl and turn the ing key on and off 5 times with in 5 secounds after that reconnect the jumper wire and get the code again and see if code 1 is still there. the 4wd lights will blink 1 time then stop then blink again for any other codes set.
Code 1 is Ram standby power lost code 2 is encoder fault make sure the 5 amp tccm fuse is good and the radio 15 amp fuse is good
disconnect the transfer case electrical connector ,put the ign in the run position ,measure voltage at the transfer case pinss 1,2,4,8, on the harness side voltage should read 5 volts at pins 1,2,4,8, pin 1=yel/blk wire,pin2=dk blu/wht wire, pin 4=brn/wht pin8 red/wht wire do you have 5 volts at all of these wires if not make sure there are no broken wires and replace the TCCM
if you have the voltage at the wires ,then measure the resistance between pin 3=blk/wht and a known good ground it should be less then 2 ohms , if the ohm reading is good check the transfer case shift motor connections if all that checks ok replace the encoder and shift motor,, if the ohms did not check ok on the last test on pin 3 check and repair a bad ground in the pin 3 wire going to the tccm
hope this helps
